In 1996, the district opened Riverdale High School which serves grades 9 through 12, while the lower grades are taught in a new state-of-the-art Riverdale Grade School. The student body consists of children from the local Riverdale/Dunthorpe neighborhood as well as tuition or transfer students from the surrounding communities. Teachers within the Riverdale School District include specialists in physical education, library/media, art, music, second languages and special education student services.
